The History Center in Tompkins County displays an amazing collection of artifacts and exhibits that explore the effect of historical events in the region on the present and the future of the nation. Permanent items at the museum include memorabilia from Dewey's failed run for president in 1944, an 1800s calendar clock, and an 1890s shaving kit. The museum is located close to the Ithaca Commons pedestrian shopping mall, just one mile southwest of Cornell University.
